Discipleship & Church Planting

The heart of Promise Child is sustainable work for Christ. One of the most significant ways entire communities can continuously be ministered to is by planting Bible-teaching indigenous churches. Church planting is no small feat as many areas we work in do not have firm believers or Bible teachers. From the indigenous school of ministry training to simple church buildings to chairs and Bibles, this fund helps create long-lasting change in a community for Christ.

School of Ministry

We are called to go and make disciples. There is no better way to do this globally than by raising nationals to reach their people. Promise Child has been honored to fund the last four years of students attending Calvary School of Ministry in Soroti, Uganda. In this one-year, full-time, live-in discipleship program, students will go through the entire Bible, engage in mission trips, and serve in the local church. After they graduate, they are sent back to their home churches for internships, and then eventually, many are sent out into the field as missionaries or church planters. We are passionate about discipleship, raising pastors, and planting churches. Each of our six church plants in Camp Bidi Bidi South Sudanese refugee camp has been equipped through this School of Ministry.

Indigenous Audio-Bible Church Planting

One powerful tool we have seen in church planting is the Proclaimer, solar-paneled audio Bibles in indigenous languages.

Discipleship Conferences

Whenever we can send a team to one of the nations we minister in, we always try to host a discipleship conference. Not only do we host a men’s pastors and leaders meeting, but we also make sure to host a women’s conference. Women, in most third-world or religiously strict countries, are often neglected. It’s such a blessing to facilitate times of worship, scripture message, and questions with local women.
