Faithful With Little
A refugee area was established in Rwamwanja, Uganda during a time of great conflict in the Congo. Tens of thousands of Congolese refugees have poured over the border since 2012. Because of the inherent effects of war, many of these refugees are widows and orphans, traumatized by experiences too painful to describe. Two Jesus-loving servants, who are refugees themselves, felt the call to house some of these destitute orphans and provide for them at least a sense of belonging and love. Despite the need they and their own families experience, these two men started an orphanage for a few of the most desperate children who crossed the border alone. Through their faithfulness and fervent prayers, the orphanage grew to 23 children and three widows as the full-time caretakers.

In 2022, Promise Child met these faithful men of God, loving caretakers, and 23 beautiful children. And a wonderful partnership began. No longer called orphans living at an orphanage, these are Promise Children living in the Congolese Children’s Home.
