Promise Child America

In America, Promise Child works differently than other countries around the world. We have found that child sponsorship in America is complicated and lacks accountability. However, we have the heart to reach children and their families in the United States during times of crisis and, of course, with the Gospel message through various outreach opportunities.

We strive to stay actively engaged with the needs of our local communities and our nation. This leads us to be flexible in our approach to reaching America. We work closely with local churches, respond to national disasters, fund school concert outreaches, support Christ-centered family crisis centers, and engage in feeding programs in underserved communities.

Reality in the USA

13.4 million children are living in poverty in the United States.

3 in every 10 American girls will get pregnant at least once before they reach their 20th birthday, and 31% of 13-18 year old pregnancies end in abortion.

200,000-300,000 American children are at risk of sex trafficking each year.

Over 3 million children are the victims of abuse every year.

On any given day, almost half a million children in America are in foster care.

Inner-City Community Projects

During the COVID19 pandemic, we have been able to partner with Calvary Chapel Hope Central in Watts, LA, where Pastor Jose Hernandez works with local LAPD to bring food and other essentials to a few communities. These communities are notorious for poverty, gang violence, prostitution, and drugs in Los Angeles, California. Hundreds of families have been met with physical and spiritual healing in this time. We also partner with Hope Central Watts in an annual youth retreat. 30-50 students from Watts, LA travel to Oakhurst, California, where they will experience actives and games, times of worship, devotions and messages, and so much more. Unfortunately, students in the inner-city often don’t have the access or means to attend conferences or retreats; that’s where we can partner and sponsor students to attend these often life-changing events where they can encounter Christ. Promise Child is burdened by inner-city poverty and has been actively involved in providing backpacks filled with school supplies, Bibles, and tracts for children all over America. Working with local churches in America, Promise Child seeks to provide essential needs, including food, clothing, and shelter for children and families in dire need. Most importantly, we have had many opportunities to share the good news of Jesus Christ.

Promise Child actively partners with numerous US-based ministries reaching those in need spiritually and physically. We have partnered with Calvary Chapel Northgrove, Fishers of Men, Frontline Missions, and many more to put on special events. One of our recent events was to bring Christmas to over 1,000 McKinney-Vento children in Anaheim.

National School Project

We are partners with National School Project, a Christ-centered ministry reaching students through establishing Christian clubs in various public schools in the USA. For almost two decades National School Project has equipped Christian middle and high school students to reach their campus and peers for Christ. They have seen over 9,000 students from almost 400 schools decide to follow Jesus through on-campus, student-led events.

Promise Child sponsors the Sacramento area of this ministry that currently reaches students at Lincoln High School and Twelve Bridges High. The Sacramento area also gained a new volunteer committed to coaching students leaders at these schools and helping reach more students for Christ!

Project Rebuild - National Disaster Relief

Here at Promise Child, we believe that Christ meets all of us exactly where we are in our time of need. He is there for us at our lowest, and daily proves Himself as our Wonderful Provider no matter how great our need is. Not only has the Lord called us to help those who are afflicted with physical aid, but also to allow the Holy Spirit to turn what was meant for evil into something good. We believe that sacrificing and loving thy neighbor, regardless of distance, as thy self is practically lived out through national and international relief efforts. As the world grows darker and disaster strikes, we will be the hands and feet of Jesus wherever He provides an avenue.

Our most recent relief efforts focused on Louisiana after Hurricane Laura and Hurricane Delta completely devastated many cities. These back-to-back hurricanes were powerful and highly destructive. Due to many factors, the people of Louisiana did not receive the coverage and help necessary to begin rebuilding as planned. Thankfully, God allowed us to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the communities of Lake Charles by clearing debris, cutting and removing large trees, trapping roofs and most importantly, sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with every person we helped.
